What is SMREIA?

Founded in 2007, the Southern Maine Real Estate Investors Association (SMREIA) exists to provide a forum for investors in Southern Maine to network with one another as well as with other team players in the industry. It also provides education to help new investors learn the business. The SMREIA also provides a marketplace for members to buy & sell real estate.

Whether you are a beginning investor looking to get started in this exciting area or an experienced investor we can assist you in reaching your goals.  We realize that investing in real estate is always a smart move, and can provide many benefits.  We also network with other team members in the industry such as Real Estate agents, appraisers, inspectors, lenders, contractors, and many other people.

The monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.  We meet at the Days Inn near the Maine Mall South Portland, ME.  Please see the "Benefits" section of this site for further details on membership.

 

Why SMREIA?

The networking at the group is the main reason why we exist.  If you want to make it big in real estate, then you must network with other team players.  This is a team sport.  Many people have found that one team member they've been missing simply by attending the meetings.  And you get to advertise your properties!  Or advertise what kind of properties you are looking for.

  

• SMREIA is NOT a co-op group or investing firm. We do NOT pool our members’ resources for investments NOR do we recommend specific investments to our members other than real estate in general.
• Education is the cornerstone of your success as a real estate entrepreneur. Our primary goal has been and remains to provide an array of educational opportunities and avenues for networking and sharing information. This is accomplished primarily through the course of our monthly membership meetings.
• Through a code of ethics, SMREIA strives to reinforce the practices of responsible property management, project management and generally ethical business practices at all times.

Members and visitors of all levels are welcome and encouraged to come network and learn. Whether you have a budding interest in real estate and want to find out more or you are a “seasoned veteran” in the business, we have much to offer you in the Southern Maine Real Estate Investors Association.

   We now have some corporate sponsors on board.  Our goal is to provide you access to these companies, so you can have the resources you need at hand to build your investing team and further your career.  The corporate sponsor level of membership is for businesses that believe in the mission and purpose of SMREIA and support the business of real estate entrepreneurs. They have products/services that are of significant interest and value to our members – often at better deals and/or reduced prices not available to the general public.
